Take turns drawing lines between dots. Close the fourth side of a square and it's yours. Whoever claims the most boxes wins. Play locally with friends, challenge a smart bot, or host an online room with a quick QR code.
Hand the phone around the table. Two to four players, one device, no setup. Perfect for a coffee break, a road trip, or waiting for the food to arrive.
Three difficulty levels — Easy, Medium, and Hard. The Hard bot understands chains and won't hand you free boxes. Warm up or get crushed.
Host a room and share a QR code or short room code. Friends scan, jump in, and you're playing in seconds. Up to 4 players, real-time, with rematch built in.
Choose anything from a 2×2 sprint to a 20×20 epic. Quick games for downtime or long battles for the patient.
An animated How to Play walks you through turns, closing boxes, and chains in under a minute — perfect for first-timers at the table.
No ads. No accounts. No in-app purchases. No tracking. Just the game you played in school notebooks, finally on the device that's already in your pocket.
Email us here and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
On your turn, draw one line between two adjacent dots. When you complete the fourth side of a small square, that box is yours and you draw again. When the grid is full, whoever owns the most boxes wins. Tap "How to play" on the home screen for an animated walkthrough.
Open the app, switch to the Online tab on the home screen, choose your board size and player count, and tap Host. Share the QR code or short room code with your friends — they tap Join, scan or type the code, and you're in.
No. Box It! signs you in anonymously the first time you open the app. There is no email, no password, and no profile. The only thing you choose is your display name for online rooms.
No. Box It! is free with no ads, no in-app purchases, and no premium tier. The whole game is the whole game.
Camera access is only used to scan a QR code when joining an online game. You can decline and join by typing the room code instead.
Online rooms are intended for friends you already know. If you encounter abusive behavior or an inappropriate display name, please email us with the room code and approximate time and we'll investigate.
Email us at the address above and ask for account deletion. Because Box It! uses anonymous sign-in tied to your device, uninstalling the app also removes your local game state.

Box It! ("the app") is developed and operated by Nuno Ricardo Moura Fontes. This policy describes what information the app collects, how it is used, and what choices you have.
The app does not ask for your name, email, or any account credentials. When you first open the app, you are signed in anonymously and assigned a random identifier so that online rooms can recognise you across reconnects. If you play online, the app stores the display name you choose, the rooms you join, and the moves you make in those rooms.
The app stores game state for online rooms (board size, players, moves, scores) so that other players can see the game and so that you can return to a game in progress. Local pass-and-play and vs-bot games are kept on your device and are not sent to our servers.
When you join an online room, your display name and your moves are visible to the other players in that room as part of the game experience. Room codes and game state are accessible only to participants of that room.
The app does not contain advertising, third-party analytics, or tracking SDKs. We do not build profiles of you, and we do not sell or share your data with advertisers.
The app may ask for camera access for the sole purpose of scanning a QR code to join an online game. Camera frames are processed on your device only and are never uploaded or stored.
The app uses third-party infrastructure (Supabase) for anonymous authentication, database storage of room and game data, and real-time multiplayer messaging. These services process data on our behalf to provide app functionality. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Your data is stored on cloud infrastructure operated by our service providers. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of electronic storage is completely secure.
You can stop using the app at any time. To request deletion of your anonymous identifier and any associated multiplayer data, email us using the address below.
The app is rated for general audiences. It does not target children under 13 specifically and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
This policy may be updated as the app evolves. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means the updated policy applies to you.
If you have questions about this policy or your data, email us.
